"Mount Robson"
Established in 1913, Mount Robson Provincial Park is the second oldest park in the province of British Columbia, Canada. At 3,954 meters, or 12,972 feet, it is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and towers majestically over the surrounding peaks.
I drive past Mount Robson quite often, and for years I’ve wanted get a shot of it however the mountain top was always covered in cloud (not the shot I wanted). So, you can imagine how excited I was when this scene came into view… pinch me!! Wowsers, the snow, the clinging clouds, the pristine blue sky and the turquoise ice in the river.... my lucky day!
One of the highlights and draws to Mount Robson is the Berg Lake Trail, which is a 42 kilometer/29 mile long. This world-renowned back-country hiking route features some of the finest scenery in British Columbia; I hope I can hike it someday! The park offers many other activities though, including: camping, canoeing, fishing, cycling, horseback riding, rock climbing and caving… to mention just a view.
